Returned from my big academic conference and this story seemed relevant. Not a great time to be an academic.
An interesting account of the current world of academic politics. It could be a frightening reality, given the lack of due process that is seen in this account.
Here’s an optimist’s case. I’m not entirely convinced, though the bleakest accounts of the future are likewise to me not entirely believable. But big changes are coming – and some things we all like and value will be lost, I suspect.
I thought these were some good ideas about the move toward a “flipped” classroom. I wish I’d heard some of these when I began thinking about this.
This is an interesting discussion of educational gaps even in online courses. Whether these suggestions will close the gap entirely or if there are other factors remains to be seen. But it is certainly worth the effort to think about these issues.
