Considering that reading a bad novel is better for intellectual development than receiving narrative from an electronic messenger, the benefits multiply when reading a good literary novel.

Here’s a post suggesting 15 reasons we should still be using hymnals. I’m sure not all of them hold water (e.g., ones that suggest digital format is inherently inferior to print are problematic). But a few do – or at least we should try to replicate the best features of the hymnal in our new digital age.
