Online instruction – it must be crushed

At least that was the first response. Minnesota, my former home state, decided that it was illegal to offer free, non-credit courses online. Fortunately, after looking stupid for a while, they changed their mind. Expect various similar efforts. I especially liked the explanation: it’s just that schools must register and pay their fees. And every state, country, municipality, etc. will figure out how to get their cut. And then no school will be able to do it. The regulatory state at its finest.
